Burst Main - Brent Knoll

10/05/2025

09:00

We are cautiously recharging the main to bring full pressure back for all customers we anticipate that this will be completed within the next 2-3 hours. Water station remains open at Watchfield Inn for customers to obtain water. We are sorry for the inconvenience this emergency situation is causing.

Due to this work, you may also experience some discolouration to your water when the supply is restored. This is normally short lived as we carry out flushing of the water mains. Once the work is complete and your supply is restored, please allow time for us to complete the flushing and then run your first mains fed cold water tap for up to 30 minutes to clear any discoloured water in your pipes.

Whilst the repair will continue into the evening and the early hours of the morning, we've seen fewer people visiting our water station and so we'll be closing it from 9:30pm tonight and reopening from 8am tomorrow. Please head on over if you still need any water urgently.

We'll also be stopping bottled water deliveries around 9:30pm so we don't disturb your evenings any further so will try to get round as many remaining priority services customers during the next hour and a half.

Your water should be back to normal in the morning but we really appreciate your patience today and this evening. We won't be posting any further updates this evening unless anything changes on site.

18:45

We are still on site working hard on the repair and we'll continue to work through the night to get this resolved. We're also continuing to deliver bottled water to our Priority Services customers. We've nearly delivered to all priority 1 and 2 customers and we've started to deliver to our priority 3 and 4 customers this evening.

Our water hub is still open and we've had around 300 people visit since opening. For customers who wish to get bottled water please still come and visit us - containers will be provided.

Thank you again for your patience and we'll update again within the next 4 hours.

16:05

A water collection point will be available from 17:00 at The Watchfield Inn, Highbridge, TA9 4RD.  This will be a tankered site with containers currently available.

Thank you for your continued patience while we work on this repair.

15:30

We're unable to safely continue with the repair due to the volume of water coming out of the main. As we isolate the main further you may now notice you have no water. We're working as quickly and safely as possible to repair the burst and get everyone back into water.

We'll be delivering bottled water to Category 1 and 2 customers on our priority services register starting with the most vulnerable. We're also setting up bottled water hubs and will share the details of these as soon as they are available.

If you purchase any bottled water whilst your supply is off,  please let us know by sending your receipt along with full name, address, contact number and email via our social channels (Direct Message) or by email. We can then arrange a reimbursement payment up to £10 within the next 10 working days.

We hope to have the repair made and supplies returned by morning. Thank you for your patience.

14:30

Crews on site are still working on the repair. 2-Way lights have been set up to assist us with a safe repair. The lights are located outside Mill Batch Farm, A38, East Brent, Highbridge, TA9 4JN. Please allow extra time for journeys or use alternative routes where possible.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused while we work on this repair.

10:45

We are aware of a burst main in the Brent Knoll area. Crews on site are currently preparing the area for the repair, this may cause some customers to see a reduction in their water pressure. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
