Flushing Allowance

If you're on a water meter and we’ve told you to run your taps to clear discoloured water, you can claim for an allowance off your next bill.

Before you fill in the form

There are a few things to know about the flushing allowance. You are only eligible to claim if you are a metered customer and you have had to flush your tap because of discoloured water.

You can only claim one £5 allowance per incident. This will be received as a credit on your account within 28 days of your application. We’ll only contact you if we need more information.

Once you’ve submitted your allowance request we’ll review it and apply the necessary credit to your account so that you’re not charged for this additional water. This will show as a credit adjustment on your next bill.
