Providing vital support for local causes in 2025

We are welcoming new applications for our Together for Good fund in 2025, that supports local charities and community groups across the area.

Providing vital support for local causes in 2025

Each month, a different charity or organisation will be awarded £500 towards a project which benefits the local area.

The fund is part of our commitment to positively impact the lives of its customers, communities and the environment beyond the delivery of clean and reliable drinking water.

Since 2018, we have given around £36,000 through the fund to support 72 local good causes.

Last year, as well as other projects, Together for Good provided new wheelchair clamps for a community transport service, supported a carers support service, and helped a local park to become more wildlife friendly.

The fund also had a positive impact on Age UK Bristol and Genesis Trust Bath:

  • Age UK Bristol

The charity used their donation for its Memory Connections group specifically for people with mild to moderate dementia, as part of the organisation’s efforts to help support older people to be social and active in Bristol.

Kay Libby, CEO of Age UK Bristol, said the funding would make a “real difference.”

  • Genesis Trust Bath

Supporting homeless and vulnerable people in the Bath area, the trust used their donation from us to help clients who are volunteering and gaining work experience with its charity furniture business Genesis Furniture, helping them learn new skills and gain confidence.

Hilary Long, Community Manager, explained: “Many of our clients have been out of the workforce for some time and Genesis Furniture is a safe place for them to regain valuable work experience.”

Natalie Everson, Bristol Water’s Community Engagement and Education Lead, said: “We’re proud to help our local groups with some of the brilliant voluntary and community work they do across our supply area – work that makes a real, positive difference.

“I’d encourage any charity or community scheme to apply to our fund in 2025. It’s quick and easy to do and you’re in the draw all year round!”

Together for Good is now taking applications for 2025, so if you're interested you can find out more and apply.

Predicting water usage from past data

Since the very beginning of humanity, we’ve relied on water for our daily lives.  In fact, 60% of our whole body is water!
