Bristol Water is celebrating World Refill Day, the global campaign encouraging everyone to reduce plastic pollution by encouraging people to refill their reusable bottles with tap water.

To mark the day, Bristol Water is providing free tap water at key community events across the city this summer, making sustainable hydration easy and accessible.

The company’s popular Water Bar has already supplied free water refill stations at gatherings such as the Festival of Nature, with more events planned throughout the summer including:

  • Glastonbury Festival – June 25 to 29 at Worthy Farm, Glastonbury.
  • Keynsham Music Festival – July 3 at Keynsham Memorial Park, Keynsham
  • Bristol Pride – July 12 at The Downs, Bristol

By offering convenient refill options, Bristol Water is helping thousands of people avoid plastic waste and encouraging sustainable behaviours.

World Refill Day, held annually on 16 June, serves as a powerful reminder that refilling a reusable water bottle instead of buying single-use plastic bottles can help prevent tonnes of plastic waste from ending up in landfill or polluting the region’s rivers, beaches and countryside.

Alongside its refill initiatives, Bristol Water continues to encourage customers to adopt simple habits at home and outdoors that help reduce water use.

From fixing leaky taps and toilets to reusing leftover water in gardens, small everyday changes can significantly reduce demand on water supplies, especially during the warmer months.

Natalie Everson from Bristol Water said:  “Our Water Bar has been a fantastic way to connect with communities and promote refill habits and we’re thrilled to be taking it to even more events this summer.

“World Refill Day reminds us all that small choices add up to big environmental benefits.”
