Bristol Water is set to host a fun run at Chew Valley Lake to raise money for The Grand Appeal charity in support of Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The family friendly run will cater for kids, joggers and athletes alike with a variety of track lengths - 2.5km, 5km and 10km.
The run will be held on Sunday 5 October 2025 with the first group setting off at 9am and two more staggered throughout the morning.
Online applications for the 275 spaces open on Friday 5 September 2025.
Money raised will go to The Grand Appeal, the Wallace and Gromit fronted charity, who have supported Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 30 years – raising over £90 million.
Each fun run ticket will cost £10 with every penny going to the hospital to contribute towards family accommodation, medical research, music therapy, and vital equipment.
At the end of the race all runners will receive goody bags and medals with winners of first, second and third places receiving trophies.
Participants and onlookers bringing reusable bottles can refill them at Bristol Water’s Water Bar, which helps to reduce the use of single use plastics.
Chew Valley Lake offers multiple carparking areas as well as cafes and restaurants, including Salt&Malt and The Woodford.
Sally James, Senior Corporate Fundraiser at The Grand Appeal, said: “We are honoured to be receiving the proceeds of the Chew Valley Lake fun run.
“It’s great to get people out and active on the weekend, especially at such a family friendly and stunning natural backdrop like Chew Valley Lake.
“The funding will go towards our continued support for Bristol Children’s Hospital and we can’t thank Bristol Water enough for thinking of us for this kind donation.”
Dani Twelvetree, Head of Customer Communications & Engagement at Bristol Water, said: “We are so pleased to be hosting this fun run at Chew Valley Lake. The area is beautiful and full of nature so really lends itself to an event like this.
“All the proceeds of the fun run will go to The Grand Appeal charity and all the amazing work they do for sick children and their local community.”
