The £25,000-a-year fund is open to community groups and registered non-profit organisations across the Bristol area.

Funding will support projects that deliver clear community benefits while demonstrating measurable reductions in water use.

The fund is part of Bristol Water’s wider work to help customers use water more efficiently. Alongside supporting local projects, the company provides practical information and guidance through its website to help households understand their water use and explore ways to save water every day.

Richard Stanbrook, Director of Drinking Water Services at Bristol Water, said: “We’re really pleased to be launching the Water-Saving Community Fund in Bristol. It marks an important step in supporting local organisations to take action on water efficiency.

“Water efficiency is important all year round because it helps us use our resources wisely, safeguard supplies, protect the environment, and ensure our customers have high-quality, clean water, whatever the season.

“By backing community-led projects, we can help reduce demand, protect water supplies and deliver lasting benefits for communities and the environment across the city.”

Community groups can apply for up to £1,000 in funding with applications reviewed monthly, while registered non-profit organisations can apply for funding up to £10,000.
