School career days

We visited a local secondary school for the day to tell them all about the different career opportunities here at Bristol Water. We brought along members of different teams from marketing to leakage so the students had an opportunity to get advice from experts.

Key Achievements

  • Delivered a career day for 240 year 9 students
  • Over 30 members of staff involved in career days
  • Plans to deliver further career days

What is it?

A few members of teams from different departments visited Bedminster Down School to deliver an annual careers event to engage year 9 students and showcase the wide range of careers available in the water industry.

Why we do it?

When visiting the Bedminster Down, we engaged with a lot of the students and it gave us a chance to better understand their questions and what they're looking for a in their future careers. As well as showing off the jobs you wouldn't expect at a water company, we were able to deliver classroom-based lessons, offer career advice and personal stories of progression and development.
