The Water Bar
Festivals are good fun but they create a lot of plastic waste. So we're doing something about it. Learn more below...
Each minute, the equivalent of a rubbish truck load of plastic is dumped into the ocean.
What we've achieved so far...
- The first water bar in the country
- We've prevented 7 miles of plastic bottles going to landfill
- As of 2019, we've saved 59,035 bottles
What is it?
We're serious about plastic waste. We started to notice the issue and back in 2015, decided we wanted to make a big change and help the local people be part of it. The Water Bar was born soon after and began its first tour around Bristol the next summer. Fuelled by a load of volunteers big ideas and a whole lot of passion, the Water Bar has attended festivals and local causes ever since. The idea? It's simple, we bring the water, you bring the bottles - keep refilling all day without a plastic container in sight.
Why we do it?
The Water Bar has become not just an opportunity to reduce our plastic use and help the planet, but it's a chance for us to get out into different areas of the South West and meet the people we serve every day. There's nothing our lot love more than a natter and it gives us a chance to have a chat with you face-to-face. We like to put a face to the name and show our initiatives off to the world, and what better place to do that than over a cold pint (of water)?
