BW RESPONDS TO CC PROVISIONAL FINDINGS

In the latest stage of the Competition Commission appeal process, Bristol Water has now submitted its detailed response to the CC's provisional findings.

The draft findings relate to the Company's referral of the regulator Ofwat's decision over prices for the next five years

The Company's response is robust and continues to press Bristol Water's case.

A public version of the response will be appearing on the CC website in due course.

The whole process began in January when Bristol Water announced that it could not accept Ofwat's decision, saying it had no alternative but to ask for the issue to be referred to the Competition Commission for review. The Company said it did not believe Ofwat's decision was in the best interests of its current and future customers.

A number of hearings and investigations have taken place since then.

Further hearings involving the main parties are taking place; and a final re-determination will be announced in August.
