Water Meters

Having a water meter installed is a great way to keep track of your usage. It can bring your bills down especially if you have more bedrooms than people living in your property.

Switching to have a meter may save you money as you only pay for the water you use. Both your water and sewerage charges will be calculated on the meter readings. Fitting will normally be free of charge.

We recommend you take the time to look at your water use, to see if you could make a saving. You can do this online by using our water use calculator.

Once you have completed an application form, we will carry out a survey. We aim to fit a meter on the first visit, it is not always necessary for you to be present. We commit to fit the meter within 45 working days of receipt of the completed application form. This period is extended to 60 working days for applications received during March, April, May and June due to seasonal demand or during promotional periods.

Fitting a meter is normally free for domestic customers, if the pipework and space available is adequate and our surveyor can determine a suitable meter location. If you wish to have your meter fitted in a specific location, you may have to pay additional costs. Our surveyor will explain these to you. In certain circumstances, it may not be possible to fit a meter. Our surveyor will discuss the options with you if this is the case.
