Record Chew pike
The last cast of the day gave Ed Matthews the fish of a lifetime when fishing recently at Chew Valley. His mackerel bait was cast out into the deep water off Woodford Bank as the sun disappeared and minutes later was taken by a 42lb 4oz monsterfish, the biggest yet from Chew. After weighing and photographing the fish swam strongly away, hopefully to be caught again after it's grown a little more!

Joe Donlin 7.07 brown
The biggest fish from the Barrows so far this season has been captured by Joe Donlin. The brown trout weighed in at 7lb 7oz and was caught off the pipe on 3 using a green and white flash lure on a floating line. Joe, who also landed a 5.06 rainbow earlier in the season, returned the fish alive after photographing.

Chew Valley brown trout 22lb 7oz
After the capture of Chew's biggest ever rainbow trout earlier in the year, the biggest ever brown from Chew has now been caught. The fish weighed an incredible 22lbs 7ozs. It was captured by an angler fishing for pike from the North Shore. The fish took a head of a bluey dead bait and fought hard before being netted. Justin Harrington was the lucky angler. Having managed to get two days fishing for pike at Chew he was a little disappointed at first that the fish he'd caught was not a huge pike. But after a while he realised that he had just landed what is probably the biggest ever grown on brown trout from an English reservoirs. The fish was carefully weighed, photographed and then nursed until it swam strongly away.
