Temporary connections to a water main
To obtain a temporary, underground, connection onto one of our water mains for building purposes please complete our application for supply form.
We will contact you and arrange an appointment to visit the site. You will then be sent a quotation for the work. Our standard connection charges apply, and a disconnection charge will be payable when the supply is no longer required. Infrastructure charges are not payable.
Your pipework will be inspected prior to connection. It should meet all of our standard connection requirements.
Alternatively you can hire a stand pipe connected to certain fittings on our mains. Please see our information leaflet for further details.
(Though the water supplied by Bristol Water meets the relevant drinking water standards the quality can be compromised by the condition of the standpipe. We therefore recommend any water drawn from our mains through the standpipe is not used for domestic purposes such as drinking or cooking, unless the standpipe has been chlorinated before use.)
