| New Supplies > Small Developments Up to Five Properties |

This section explains what you need to do to get a small development connected to the water mains system, typically less than 5 properties. (If you are unsure if your development constitutes a small development – and we are particularly interested in increased demand on our network – contact us)
You will first need to complete an Application for Supply form and return it to us with a site location plan. Click here to download the application form.
Once we have received your Application Form and site plan we will visit you and discuss the planned work. We will show you where you need to bring your new pipes and establish the amount of work needed to make the connections.
Following our visit we will send you a quotation letter detailing the charges involved in carrying out the work and any relevant Infrastructure Charges. You can make payment any time up to the connection being required. We will not make any connections without receiving payment in advance.
You are responsible for bringing your new pipe or pipes to the required point and adhering to any Water Regulations specified. You can find out more about Water Regulations through the Water Regulations section of the Bristol Water Web Site.
If any inspections of your work are required, our Technical Liaison Officer will advise you of this during the initial visit.
We aim to do all connections within 10 working days of you telling us you are ready, unless an Inspection is required or the road in which the work will be carried out is deemed as traffic sensitive. This may mean we will have to wait 28 days until the Highway Authority allows us to work there. You should make provision for this in your plans.
Once the connection is complete a water meter will be fitted to enable our Billing Company to charge you for any water used. If you sell the property you will need to inform them of this change so they can update their records. You can find details of the Billing Company in the Useful Addresses section.
