For larger developments, typically those likely to use more water than 5 domestic homes might be expected to use, you must first contact our Development Services Department on 0117 9341074 / 9341178. They will investigate your requirements and advise you on any mains augmentation necessary. It is important you contact them as early as possible, so they can give you specific advice on how best we can help you. Early discussions with them will ensure that you have all the information you require for working out the costs of building and servicing your development. If you are in any doubt as to whether your proposed development might need mains augmentation call the number to check first.

Any costs involved in augmentation of the water mains is in addition to the cost of the actual service pipe connections and Infrastructure Charges. Details of these prices can be found in the Charges section.

Once the water mains have been dealt with, service pipe/boundary box and we have received a completed Application for Supply form and site location plan from you, we will visit the site and establish the type of connection suitable for your properties and confirm the amount of work involved in getting the service pipe connections done.

Following this visit we will send you a quotation for the service pipe connections and Infrastructure Charges. You can make payment any time up to the connection being required. We will not make any connections without receiving payment in advance.

During the initial visit we may also explain to your Site Agent the Self Certification Scheme which runs for large builders. We will explain what you need to do to become self certified.

Final Inspections of your work are carried out at our discretion. Our Technical Liaison Officer will advise you if we need to do any Inspections at your site.

We aim to do all connections within 10 working days of you requesting them, unless an Inspection is required. Our Contractors will always try to call you with a date for the work so you know when to expect them.

Once the connection is complete a water meter will be fitted to enable our Billing Company to charge for any water used. Once you sell the property you will need to inform them of this change so they can update their records. You can find details of the Billing Company in the Useful Addresses section.
