The role is responsible for delivering and developing both internal and external communications services across traditional and digital channels. As the most senior communications professional within the team, you will be responsible for leading the full breadth of the communication function to support delivering our goal of being a truly customer centric organisation.

Bristol Water has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Performance & Development Specialist to join our expanding team!
Reporting to the lead Performance & Development Specialist, this role will form part of the Learning & Organisational Development team, as well as the wider HR directorate. Working within all parts of the organisation, your focus will be on developing and delivering a suite of blended solutions that build performance. Delivering topics such as performance management, leadership behaviours, personal effectiveness, team development as well as supporting people completing apprenticeships and other qualifications.
What are we offering?
This is an exciting time for the Bristol Water HR directorate and especially for the new L&OD function. We are building a development agenda from the ground up, beginning by establishing our standard skills offering and then continuing to build the sophistication of our approaches in the coming years. You will have the opportunity to influence and take ownership for the L&D agenda, supporting the Lead P&D Specialist in setting priorities and defining our approach. Significant experience of delivering a variety of behavioural topics, especially to first line and mid level leaders
Needs analysis consulting, designing and delivering all forms of development solutions, written, e-learning and workshop delivery
Consulting with leaders to provide pragmatic, results driven solutions, challenging them to tackle the tough issues
A variety of approaches to performance topics, continuously developing your own “kitbag” of knowledge and approaches
You should be able to demonstrate their capability in the following:
Ability to deliver development topics in a thoroughly credible and engaging way, to a varied audience
Knowledge of a variety of leadership best practices
Confident and credible performance coaching
Understanding a commercial organisation and its culture
Promoting the L&D agenda, building credibility for what we do and ensuring the business knows how to benefit

Identify needs and design new solutions, using a variety of media, including e-learning
Maintain relationships with our external providers of statutory training and qualifications (e.g. apprenticeships) track and understand progress of our participants
Ensure training records are well maintained and accurate
Advise and report on L&D KPI’s

The duties of this post include, but not limited to:-
Co-ordinate and support implementation of Bristol Water’s Employee Wellbeing Strategy and to ultimately enhance engagement, productivity levels and reduce sickness absence
Alongside the Wellbeing Leads, coordinate several regular Wellbeing initiatives and events to promote, raise awareness and educate employees on health and wellbeing initiatives.
To confidently and autonomously run wellbeing events and initiatives, engaging with the workforce and gathering feedback on their success
Support the development of a Wellbeing Policy for Bristol Water supporting other key policies such as absence management, annual leave and health and safety policies
To be proactive in looking for new methods, techniques and initiatives that will continually enhance the Bristol Water Wellbeing strategy and support the HR team in contributing to the reduction in avoidable absence as a result of wellbeing initiatives
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a proven track record of supporting wellbeing in the workplace.
Experience of sourcing or implementing wellbeing initiatives
Good understanding of Mental Health practices (Mental Health awareness training desirable)
Sound business acumen
Previous experience of being accountable for delivery (e.g. KPI accountability)
Heath or Human Resources background desirable
Qualification in relevant subject related to Health, HR, or Business Studies or relevant equivalence experience
Mental Health awareness training
